berita2.com (Jakarta): Departemen Luar Negeri dan Perdagangan Australia dan Lembaga Australia-Indonesia membuka kesempatan untuk mengajukan permohonan untuk mengikuti program Penghargaan Jurnalisme Elizabeth O’Neill 2011.

Penghargaan ini terbuka bagi wartawan pemula atau pertengahan-karir dengan prestasi tinggi.

Penghargaan ini untuk memperingati karir istimewa Elizabeth O’Neill OAM yang gugur dalam tugas Departemen Luar Negeri dan Perdagangan Australia di Indonesia pada 7 Maret 2007. Penghargaan ini dibangun di atas karyanya yang tak mengenal lelah untuk memupuk saling pengertian antara Australia dan Indonesia melalui pelaporan media yang tepat dan akurat.

Pemenang Penghargaan akan tinggal selama tiga minggu di Australia dalam program yang didanai penuh untuk mengembangkan pemahaman dan apresiasi yang lebih kukuh tentang berbagai macam isu yang dihadapi Australia kontemporer dan hubungan dengan Indonesia. Program tersebut akan disesuaikan dengan bidang kepakaran wartawan dan tanggung jawab pelaporan di bidang-bidang seperti kebijakan luar negeri dan perdagangan, bantuan pembangunan, hubungan antar-warga dan pendidikan.

Pemohon yang berhasil terpilih harus bersedia untuk mengadakan perjalanan antara bulan Februari dan Maret 2012.

Pemohon Indonesia harus berwarga negara Indonesia dan tinggal di Indonesia dan dapat berkarya di media cetak, radio, televisi atau dalam jaringan (online).

Rincian lengkap tentang proses permohonan dapat ditemukan pada situs departemen di www.dfat.gov.au/lizoneill. Permohonan ditutup pada 7 Oktober 2011. Pemenang Penghargaan (Indonesia dan Australia) akan diumumkan pada November 2011.
