berita2.com (Jakarta): Maskapai penerbangan swasta nasional, Kartika Airlines mengumumkan rencana pembelian 30 pesawat baru jenis Sukhoi SuperJet 100 (SSJ 100) buatan Sukhoi Civil Aircraft, salah satu anak perusahaan perusahaan pesawat tempur Rusia senilai 840 juta dolar AS.

Siaran pers Kartika Airlines di Jakarta, Selasa (20/7/2010), menyebutkan, kedua pihak, Direktur Utama PT. Kartika Airlines Kim Johanes Mulia. dan Presiden Sukhoi Civil Aircraft telah menandatangi Purchase Agreement pada Senin (19/7/2010), di lokasi Farnborough Air Show 2010. Hal itu disaksikan Dirjen Perhubungan Udara, Herry Bhakti Gumay.

Dengan ditandatanganinya Purchase Agreement, disepakati bahwa mulai 2012 Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Co. (SCAC) akan menyerahkan 1 pesawat setiap bulan. “Kami mengarah menjadi penerbangan full service, namun tidak langsung berhadapan (bersaing) dengan airlines yang sudah ada, tetapi kami memilih rute-rute potensial baru (virgin route) yang belum dilayani” kata Kim.

Hal itu yang melatarbelakangi Kartika Airlines memilih SSJ100 sebagai tulang punggung armada pesawatnya. “Sukhoi Superjet 100 pesawat dengan isian 90 tempat duduk mampu mendarat dengan landasan cukup sepanjang 1.500 m. Banyak kota-kota di Indonesia yang memiliki landasan terbatas yang masih belum dilayani penerbangan. Kota-kota tersebut menjadi sasaran kami” lanjut Kim.

Dirjen Perhubungan Udara, Herry Bhakti Gumay menyambut baik dan mendukung strategi Kartika Airlines yang mengarah pembukaan rute-rute baru (virgin route) yang selama ini belum terlayani jasa angkutan udara.

“Saat ini rute-rute gemuk sudah ramai diperebutkan, masih banyak rute-rute baru yang dapat dikembangkan, bahkan rute baru tersebut dapat menjadi feeder bagi rute-rute yang ada selama ini” kata Herry.

Kartika Airlines juga sudah menggandeng PT Dirgantara Indonesia sebagai mitra untuk mempersiapkan pelaksanaan MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul). “PT.
